My Conversion Story
When I was sixteen years old, I found I needed something spiritually that I wasn't getting from my current church,
The Catholic Church. I went because many of my friends did, but I never felt a real connection to God there.
I had a friend who introduced me to The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints, and I started going to their
dances. I was in my own Catholic church when I heard a voice that said, "Go to the Mormon Church." I called the
missionaries, took the lessons, read The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Christ, prayed about the book, and asked the
missionaries to set a baptism date. I was baptized on March 1, when I was sixteen years old. I went through the
temple for my own endowments when I came to BYU in 1988. I got sealed to my husband Craig and my son Caden in March
2004.
My Testimony
I know that God lives, that Jesus is His son, and that He lives, too. I believe that Heavenly Father and
Jesus are two separate beings. I know that Jesus died for our sins and was resurrected on the third day. I know
that through His atonement, for which I am eternally grateful, that I can live again, just as He does. That I will be
resurrected in the flesh, and brought before God at the judgement day.
I belong to the church because it makes sense to me, I cannot deny that The Book of Mormon is the word of God,
and that the temple is a truly holy place. I cannot deny it, and Heavenly Father knows I know the truthfulness of these
things and places, and so I stay true and faithful to my covenants.
I love the prophet, and my ward and bishop are great. I would ask anyone seeking spiritual guidance or stability
to call the missionaries from your area and let them teach you. My being baptized into the church was the greatest choice
I ever made.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
